Live the surface of the handle is covered with several dozens of bubbles, some up to 3mm in diameter. I checked several samples of this sword, but found none significantly better than the others (-> testing occurred on Conquest of Mythodea 2010 at the dein-larp-shop.de-booth). It ruins the look, especially in the detailed ornaments ! A real spoiler!

A shame really, because otherwise it would be a great saber. It is lightweight and well balanced, making it more than suitable to take on even skilled opponents. The shape of the blade is elegant and the tip is pointed enough to look good, but offers enough solidity to ensure it will stay where it's supposed to be attached. Together with the unparalleled toughness of the Calimacil-material this is top-notch in modern foam-weapons. Additionally the beautiful skull-kraken ornament on the handle is a real eyecatcher.

Of course, the metal-painting is not quite as vivid as it looks in the photo or the video, in fact, it's the low-range standart. I assume the sample in the video was heavily painted over to hide the faults and make it look considerably better than the ones actually on sale, but that's standart-behaviour,I 'm afraid. Of course, you could do the same to make yours look good, but it will require some skill, time and, of course, money to do so.

Summing up: At this price I consider especially the ruined surface an absolute no-go! The relatively poor painting I could accept, but it adds to the overall impression, that this sword needs some working-over, before it's ready to really hit the masses. If it indeed were what it was designed to be I'd have bought one instantly without as much as thinking twice. Probably wouldn't even have asked the price. But not like this.
